That’s the though one. What really makes this image work is the ambience of the room defined by the only available light source – TV screen. It painted everything around in an interesting, weird colors. The problem is that, since most monitors are not really calibrated – the image will mostly appear too dark, in some cases too bright, and on very few as intended. So WYSIWYG. If you want to see how it was meant to look calibrate your monitor, or order a print. Oh well…
This should probably go into Strobist category =) Improvised ad-hoc session while having a good time at Niyom Pub. Equipment used: Nikon D300, SB900 strobe off-camera with Styrofoam lid from ice cooler as a light modifier (masterfully hand-held by friend of mine Pawel G.). To take advantage of ambient lighting I have increased ISO, set camera and strobe to manual, and lowered strobe output to bare minimum.
As demonstrated, fortified sodas are undoubtedly catalytic in unleashing creative drive*.
